Our Approach - Beyond Scores

Our approach is so unique that we encourage students and parents to attend a demo class prior to registering. At that session, you will be excited to see your student’s ability to master commonly-asked questions. The excitement will continue after your child’s first tutoring session or group class, which is why we do not see any need to follow the standard practice of “locking in” students through a contract or commitment.

Many unmotivated students will suddenly enjoy learning, become conscientious about homework, and say afterward that taking the test was “fun.” (Then they’ll laugh at how ridiculous it sounds.) Stress levels will drop after only the first session, particularly for those with test anxiety. Over the course of their group classes or tutoring sessions (most clients choose between six and twelve), they will come to appreciate that the questions are really just engaging puzzles and brain-teasers that build ingenuity.

Faith and belief in oneself is the key to rapid score improvement and sustained studying, but it also means that many students become inspired to do another round of preparation after their first major score increase. By working on one skill or section at a time, students are able to see how their hard work can pay off which gives them that belief in their abilities so that they can wholeheartedly commit to doing the work required to keep improving.

This applies to everything in life. My overall philosophy is to encourage students to use the experience of raising SAT or ACT scores as a life-long model of turning challenges into fun through extraordinary preparation.
