Group Classes

Group classes are a great way to start the test preparation process or review right before the test. Barak goes over a lot of material, but after the class, we recommend meeting one-on-one to go over anything you are still struggling with or any higher-level concepts. In most cases, we don’t recommend taking multiple group classes as there will likely be a lot of repeated material. 

Good to know: 

  • All of our SAT classes are also appropriate for students preparing for the PSAT. 
  • In general, we recommend choosing the SAT or ACT and sticking with it rather than trying to prepare for both simultaneously. Be in touch if you are having trouble choosing between tests.

SAT – ACT – PSAT

SAT

This course will cover all the tips and tricks you need to raise your score quickly. Class is taught by Barak on Zoom.

Anyone of any skill level is welcome to join this class. Students will be given self-study materials to use before the test. This homework is essential to getting the most out of the class.

This 2 hour course includes:

  • Tips and Tricks for common questions
  • Writing and Math content review
  • Strategies for Reading and Critical Thinking

This course will cover the basics of what you need to know in order to raise your score quickly and do well on the SAT. All classes are taught by Barak on Zoom.

Anyone of any skill level is welcome to join this class. Students will be given homework and self-study materials to use between sessions and before the test. This homework is essential to getting the most out of the classes.

This 5 hour course includes: 

  • Day 1: The Secrets of the Test and Crash Course in Writing and Math (2.5 hours)
  • Day 2: Strategies for Critical Thinking and Content Review (2.5 hours)

    PSAT

    The PSAT and the SAT are nearly identical. All of our SAT classes can be used for PSAT preparation. 

    One of the only differences is that the PSAT double-weights the Reading/Writing portion of the test. Our PSAT specific classes will spend a little bit more time on the Reading and Writing section since that will have a greater impact on raising scores. 

    This course will cover the basics of what you need to know in order to raise your score quickly and do well on the PSAT. All classes are taught by Barak on Zoom.

    Receiving National Merit from the PSAT can lead to a full-ride at many great universities, and even if a student does not become a finalist, other honors such as “Commended Student” can open the door to many scholarships. If your student is scoring a 1300 or above on practice SATs or comparable tests and wants to be in a fast-paced, small group class aiming for National Merit on the new Digital PSAT, these are the classes for them. (Barak also has private tutoring options).

    We have two options: An Extended 8 Week Class and an Accelerated 4 Week Class. Both classes will cover the same material and the only difference will be the number of sessions. These classes will not only prepare students for the October PSAT, but will also prepare them well for the SAT.

    These 8 hour courses include: 

    • Tips, tricks, and strategies for both the verbal and the math sections.
    • Basic fundamentals
    • Focus on the hardest question types and multiple methods for approaching them
    • 5 official digital practice tests
    • Curated questions compiled from other sources including past SATs and the GRE
    • A 3 month subscription to Mathchops
